You notice it in your hands, legs and feet as well.<\/p>\n<h3>What\u2019s wrong with you?<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Men <\/strong>too can suffer from bloating but it is more common in <strong>women <\/strong>for hormonal reasons, the menstrual cycle, pregnancy or the menopause. In addition, <strong>stress<\/strong>, anxiety, a <strong>sedentary lifestyle<\/strong>, <strong>circulatory <\/strong>problems together with <strong>diet<\/strong>, have a great effect on liquid retention.<\/p>\n<p>Other frequent <strong>causes<\/strong> are: obesity, lymphatic problems, kidney failure, heart or liver failure, high blood pressure, standing or sitting at work, without moving for hours, wearing tightly fitting clothes, taking too much salt in your meals or too much heat and humidity.<\/p>\n<p>If you drink enough liquid, your kidneys will eliminate it through your urine. Otherwise, your body will start saving and accumulate liquid.<\/p>\n<h3>What can you do to prevent and avoid swelling?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Do regular <strong>exercise<\/strong> at least twice a week.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Walk<\/strong> as much as you can, avoid the lift and be more active.<\/li>\n<li>Do<strong> aerobic exercise<\/strong>, swimming, running, cycling, global fitness, aerobics, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Drink two litres of<strong> water<\/strong> a day. And diuretic infusions like fennel, juniper, horsetail, camomile, etc., two infusions a day and you will feel much better.<\/li>\n<li>Increase your intake of <strong>potassium<\/strong>-rich foods: bananas, melon, strawberries, Swiss chard, pumpkin, carrots, potatoes, walnuts, peanuts and proteins.<\/li>\n<li>Eat foods low in <strong>sodium<\/strong> like pears, apples, oatmeal, rice, soya, pulses, milk and derivatives.<\/li>\n<li>Moderate your<strong> salt<\/strong> intake in your meals. Use lemon or aromatic herbs to season.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid tight-fitting <strong>clothes<\/strong>, particularly socks or high boots.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sleep <\/strong>at least seven hours.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid<strong> fizzy <\/strong>beverages, very <strong>sweet<\/strong> food and <strong>processed <\/strong><\/li>\n<li>If you stand or sit when working, <strong>change position <\/strong> Move your body, walk around, do some stretching exercises or go to the bathroom to walk a few metres.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid <strong>tobacco <\/strong>and <strong>alcohol<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<pre>To lead a healthy lifestyle, a healthy, balanced diet and physical exercise are indispensable.<\/pre>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At some stage in life, everybody has felt bloated.
