Drink water, on its own or with lemon juice or isotonic beverages. Take small sips and make sure it\u2019s not cold.<\/li>\n<li>Follow an <strong>astringent diet<\/strong>: Rice, potato and carrot pur\u00e9e, grated apple or pur\u00e9ed apple, toast and tea. On the first day, follow a<strong> strict diet<\/strong>, that is, do not eat anything solid and only drink liquids.<\/li>\n<li>Do not take any <strong>drugs <\/strong>without your doctor\u2019s consent. It could make things worse.<\/li>\n<li>Do not take any food that could<strong> speed up <\/strong>transit, such as fruit, vegetables and greasy foods.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>What can you do to look after your intestinal flora in the future?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Take <strong>probiotic foods <\/strong>and food with bifidus frequently, such as yoghourts, at least once a day to keep the good bacteria in your intestine.<\/li>\n<li>Follow a diet rich in<strong> vegetables and fruit, <\/strong>with fibre and enough <strong>liquids<\/strong> to maintain the balance in your intestinal transit.<\/li>\n<li>Do not take<strong> drugs <\/strong>without a prescription and avoid taking too much medicine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What to do to prevent the same thing happening again?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Wash your<\/strong> hands thoroughly. If you touch raw food or any object that could be dirty or taken from the ground, wash your hands with soap and water.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Keep <\/strong>food in closed containers and do not break the cold chain.<\/li>\n<li>If you are going away, only drink<strong> bottled<\/strong> water and <strong>cooked <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<pre>Above all, <strong>take special care if the elderly or very young in your family <\/strong>suffer from diarrhoea and make sure they are properly hydrated.
