We are going to give you with some simple guidelines that you can easily follow so that the celebrations do not get in the way of your healthy habits.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3 lang=\"en-US\"><span lang=\"en-IE\">Advice for a healthy diet at Christmas<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"en-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\"><b>Don\u2019t stop moving: <\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\">you may not be able to get to the gym, but that does not mean that you can\u2019t go out for a walk, a run or meet some friends for a game of paddle. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"en-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\"><b>Don\u2019t take out the sweet things out until Christmas Eve: <\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\">even though they can be seen in supermarkets from the beginning of November, it\u2019s better if you save them for the special days as they have a lot of calories. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"en-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\"><b>Try to eat more fruit and vegetables<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\"><b>, <\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\">as they will provide you with water and help clean your body. Try to add a piece of fruit at breakfast, another mid-morning and a third for dessert at mealtimes.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"en-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\"><b>Make the most of seasonal vegetables: <\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\">make butternut squash cream soup, spinach cream soup, saut\u00e9ed Swiss chards, cardoon with potatoes or baked artichokes. You can use the vegetable <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\"><b>stock<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\"> and have it before meals as it is calming, speeds up intestinal transit and eliminates toxins.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"en-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\">After all the feasting on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or New Year\u2019s Eve, the digestive system needs a break. Don\u2019t fast the day after because that will only put your metabolism out of synch. <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\"><b>Just follow a clean diet<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\"> and one that is easy to digest. Have fruit and a bowl of muesli for breakfast, salad and grilled chicken for lunch and vegetable pur\u00e9e with a French omelette for dinner. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"en-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\"><b>Have a purifying infusion<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\"> to help prevent fluid retention and help prevent the accumulation of gas, such as horsetail, camomile, thyme or green tea.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"en-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\"><b>Plan the rest of your daily menus, <\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\">apart from just<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\"> those for the holidays. You will then be able to make up for any missing nutrients and vary your diet. Remember that it is always better to eat five or six times a day and take smaller portions to keep your body busy getting energy.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 lang=\"en-IE\">Exercises to keep in shape at Christmas<\/h3>\n<p lang=\"en-IE\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\">If you do not have time to go out for a walk, go running or hill climbing, you can do this <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\"><b>workout at home<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\">:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"en-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\">Warm up for 10 minutes, walking on the same spot or dancing to a couple of songs. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"en-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\">Start with a series of <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\"><b>50 squats<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\">, with your legs slightly apart and your back straight.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"en-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\">Lying <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\"><b>face up<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\">, raise your legs together to form a right angle. Breathe in and raise your shoulders, breathe out and lower them without touching the floor. Repeat 50 times.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"en-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\">End up with a <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\"><b>planche press up <\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-IE\">for a minute. Face down, hold your body weight with your forearms and the tips of your toes.
